Cashew-Based Parmesan Substitute

Cashew-Based Parmesan Substitute.

Light block of wood, clear class jar with wood topper, grated cashews, a small wooden spoon full of grated cashews.

Replace grated parmesan cheese with this delicious recipe, put it on your pasta, salads, soups, roasted veggies, or pizza for a delicious plant-based cheesy flavor!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw cashews (unsalted)
  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Blend Ingredients: Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender.

  2. Pulse to Combine: Pulse until the mixture becomes a fine, crumbly texture resembling grated Parmesan cheese. Be careful not to over-blend, as the cashews can turn into a paste.

  3. Taste and Adjust: Adjust seasonings as needed. Add more nutritional yeast for a cheesier flavor or more salt for a saltier taste.

  4. Store: Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
